Optimizing Main Process Parameters When Conducting Powder-Mixed Electrical Discharge Machining of Hardened 90CrSi

In the current study, an optimization process of powder-mixed electrical discharge machining (PMEDM) when cylindrically shaped parts made hardened 90CrSi steel is reported. this SiC powder was mixed into Diel MS 7000 dielectric solution. Additionally, graphite chosen as electrode material. The multi-objective functions were minimizing surface roughness (SR) and wear rate (EWR) maximizing material removal (MRR). used input parameters included concentration, pulse-on time, pulse-off pulse current, servo voltage. A combination between Taguchi method grey relation analysis (GRA) with support Minitab R19 software to design experiment analyze results. It found that optimal set can satisfy above responses are Cp 0.5 g/L, Ton 8 µs, Toff IP 5 A, SV 4 V.
